Noveske Rifleworks began in the autumn of 2001, when John Noveske established a workshop in his garage in Grants Pass, Oregon. The company’s own history describes a small operation built around a Logan lathe and an interest in applying specialist manufacturing attention to the AR rifle platform. Barrels formed a central part of that early work.
The business subsequently expanded into larger premises in Grants Pass. Its account also identifies Lorina Noveske’s involvement in developing the company’s branding and in continuing the business after John’s death in 2013.
These are distinct stages of the Noveske story: the founder’s workshop, the growth of an organised manufacturer and the company’s continuation beyond his lifetime.
That chronology gives readers a useful framework for understanding individual examples. A firearm or component should be placed within its documented production period, without assuming that every later item was personally made by the founder. Period catalogues, markings and original records help establish the connection. Noveske’s history is therefore both a manufacturing story and a family-business story, with its Oregon setting providing a consistent thread through changes in scale, personnel and the range of products bearing the name.
