Surgeon Rifles began production in Prague, Oklahoma, in February 2003 under founder Preston Pritchett. The company’s published history describes an initial focus on rifle actions and a subsequent expansion into complete rifles. That progression places Surgeon within the modern American specialist-manufacturing tradition rather than the history of a longstanding military arsenal.

The business became part of Strategic Armory Corps in 2013. Its own account therefore identifies at least two distinct chapters: the original Oklahoma operation and its development within a larger group. Those dates provide context for an individual example but do not, by themselves, establish its exact place of manufacture or original configuration.

The distinction between an action and a complete rifle is particularly useful when researching the Surgeon name. Another workshop may have used a Surgeon component in a separately assembled firearm.
