SAA REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S #55053SA. Mfg. 1970. Bbl. 4 3/4″ with blade front sight. This revolver, a piece of history, features 75% coverage and detailed floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background. Gold inlaid bands are found at the rear of cyl. And at the muzzle end of bbl. Backstrap has 3 gold inlaid musical notes with a vertically descending “GHOST RIDER” followed by a singular gold inlaid musical note. The left side of the frame is signed “DW HARRIS.”
Harris, a student of the renowned Weldon Bledsoe, who learned engraving under the tutelage of Legendary engraver Cole Agee, has created a masterpiece. Agee is thought to be the originator of the “Cattle Brand” engraving style. In near excellent condition, this revolver was refinished at the time of engraving, a testament to its quality. The metal retains 98% high polish black/blue with a minor blemish near the muzzle end of the ejector rod housing—excellent grips with age-related lines.
