Description
The HK P7 M13 S, Serial 063 (One of 239 Prototypes Made), is a rare collector’s piece with a unique and intriguing history. This one was made for a dignitary in Mexico. This model is a particular variant initially designed for the Mexican market, bearing distinctive Mexican crests that make it truly one of a kind. On the right side of the slide, you’ll find the prominent Mexican crest, with a smaller one etched on the grip. These markings and the narrow plastic trigger differentiate it from the versions made for European markets, which featured more comprehensive plastic triggers and lacked these symbols.
This particular firearm, Serial 063, was the shotgun for H&K’s Mexico project. Notably, the barrel bears a small “1” engraving, signifying a reduced gas bore diameter of 1.2 mm instead of the standard 1.4 mm—matching the specification for all P7 M13 S models made for Mexico. This adjustment is a clear testament to its authenticity as a true “Mexico” variant used by H&K for display and demonstration purposes, adding to its value and appeal to collectors.
The condition of the P7 M13 S is virtually mint, having been purchased directly from the H&K factory. It comes with the original box, German operating instructions, and two magazines, one featuring green phosphating. With such rarity and provenance, this firearm is a functional masterpiece and a unique piece of H&K history. Collectors seeking an exceptional P7 model will appreciate this one-of-a-kind pistol’s exclusivity and meticulous design.
The History of the P7 M13 S
The initiator and provider of the P7M15 S were the Mexican Militar because they wanted to replace some of their previously managed government replicas, “Sistera Obregon.” They ordered 3000 copies of this particular version, numbered 10001 to 13 000, in 1983. This variant was structurally consistent with the regular M13, except for an additional push protection. Such protection is superfluous, as the P7 family relaxes via the clamping handle. However, they are installed if customers expressly and fundamentally request such security mechanisms.
The safety is mounted on the right side of the weapon, above the trigger bracket, and acts directly on the trigger. The slider is in the back, and the two symbols “O” (white) and “1” (red) are visible. For shooting, the safety is pushed forward to the stop so that only the “1” is visible.
These weapons have a wide plastic trigger and the left-hand shutter inscription »HK P7 M13S; DEPTO. IND. MIL. Mexico; 9 mm x 19«. The abbreviation “DIM” can be found in the type plate of the left handle shell.
