Description
This crafted Colt 3rd Gen Single Action Army Revolver, completed in 1992, features the distinctive touch of Master Engraver John Adams. It boasts a sleek barrel adorned with a unique band at the muzzle and frame, complemented by a sophisticated floral scroll design extending to the individual panel markings. The detailing is meticulous, with even the front sight showcasing intricate engraving.
The frame is lavishly decorated with a floral scroll motif, covering about 85% of the surface. This motif elegantly transitions into dynamic bursts at the cylinder pin release and the ejector rod housing. This design continues, with an ornate fan adorning the recoil shield and loading gate and the patent dates elegantly presented on a ribbon.
The cylinder, trigger guard, and back strap are also expertly engraved harmoniously with the barrel and frame, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic. John Adams’ signature is artfully inscribed twice on the back strap, beneath the grip, and once more on the barrel’s bottom, accompanied by the date “6.7.95,” nestled between the back strap signatures.
The revolver is further enhanced with exquisitely carved steer head grips featuring delicately pierced sections that follow the natural curl of the horns. It comes with its original shipping carton and a classic Colt blue box.
This Colt 3rd Gen Single Action Army Revolver stands out not only for its artistry but also for its condition. It maintains over 99% of its original nickel finish, showing only minor handling marks and slight oil stains that do not detract from the crispness of the engraving or the vibrant hues of the grips. The revolver operates flawlessly, a testament to both its craftsmanship and maintenance.
