Description
A Collector’s Gem: The Steyr-Hahn Model 1911, Serial No. “1” Semi-Automatic Pistol – A Testament to Craftsmanship and History from 1912.
Behold a collector’s dream: the first serial production, an exceptionally scarce and sought-after Steyr-Hahn Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol, dated from 1912. Its design boasts a distinctively robust milled frame and an integrated, fixed magazine that can be loaded from above using stripper clips. Engineered with a steadfast blow-back system, it includes a rotating barrel. It is tailored for the notably elongated 9 MM Steyr pistol cartridge, surpassing the length of standard 9 mm Parabellum rounds. These unique features make it a standout in any collection.
Adorning the pistol’s rear left slide is the engraving “STEYR 1912,” which precedes the model designation “MOD. 1911,” alongside an embossed “S.” The pistol’s unique identity is confirmed by the “1” stamped clearly on both the left slide and frame. The number “3589” on the slide’s rear underside could also indicate a historical contract reference. The handgrips feature exquisitely patterned walnut with a deep, rust-blue finish on the main body. At the same time, the smaller components and screws are treated to a contrastive straw hue. A distinctive bulge on the lower front grip strap distinguishes this early model from subsequent iterations. This Steyr-Hahn Model 1911 is a pristine example of the pioneering Steyr-Hahn pistols bearing the prestigious serial number “1”.
