Scarce Colt Combat Python 3-Inch Barrel Double Action Revolver with German Proofs and Factory Letter
Manufactured in 1988, this rare Colt Combat Python, Serial T75817, features a 3-inch barrel and is one of only 500 produced exclusively for Lew Horton Distributing Company. The factory letter reveals that approximately 300 units were made for the international market. The revolver boasts a special rollmark reading “COMBAT PYTHON/357 MAGNUM CTG.” on the left side of the barrel, alongside standard markings and German proofs. An import mark is located under the barrel. According to the factory letter, this revolver was shipped to Raiffeisenverband Salzburg, Austria, for Helmut Oschulhigg on April 14, 1988, as part of a 30-gun shipment. The revolver includes a Colt box with a reproduction end label matching the revolver.
