This meticulously preserved antique .45 caliber Colt Single Action Army, bearing the serial number 29624, exemplifies classic firearm craftsmanship with its 7.5-inch barrel prominently marked with Hartford’s distinguished address. The left side of the trigger bow is delicately engraved with “45CAL,” further enhanced by a triple patent inscription on the left frame, showcasing the revolver’s authentic lineage and superior design. Historical records from the Colt company reveal that this firearm was part of an exclusive batch of 50 shipped in November of 1876 to the renowned JP Moore in New York City. Known for his bespoke enhancements, JP Moore’s influence is unmistakable in the intricate engravings, luxurious nickel plating, and craftsmanship reminiscent of the work attributed to the famous artisan Nimschke.
This Colt Single Action Army is adorned with exquisite mother-of-pearl grips, segmented into two pieces for a refined and elegant finish.
